Merrell Eden Feral Duo24

Not the classic Adventure Races (AR), but would be an incredible introduction to Adventure Racing .

A 24 hour Duo (Pairs), GPS navigated, multi-disciplined race. This includes trail running, kloofing, mountain hiking, paddling and mountain biking. There will be no ropework, zip lines or other obstacles.

The race will take the top athletes 12-14 Hours and the last teams 20-24 hours.

The main idea is to get the athletes to GET FERAL in spectacular wilderness areas. Competitors will experience a ‘journey race’ in the most beautiful remote places we can find. Participants will be able to navigate with GPS (compulsory) which takes away the stress of having to have the skills to navigate with compass and 1:50 000 maps. This will open the doors to many athletes that felt they were unable to race because of the lack of navigation skills.

The races will be a test of endurance mixed with pure adventure.

Each race will have a kloofing section, 2 mountain bike legs, 1-2 trail run/hike legs and 2 paddling legs.

There will be three races in the series with more races being developed for the future. There will also be a championship race every two years (venue to be advised).

How the entries work:

Covid restrictions have created havoc with sports events around the world. Entry fees become an issue. We believe that the situation will have subsided substantially by September, but cannot be sure. So, we have decided that the only thing needed to secure your team entry is to pay a R150 p/p deposit or R300 p/team. This is non-refundable.
