The 8 km route is rated as moderate. We began the walk with a gradual but challenging ascent up the mountain. You will need cardio fitness to manage the climb. Once at the top, we saw the Muldersdrift surroundings on a clear and beautiful day. The route took us along the top of the mountain, where we gradually descended down a rocky and technical path.

It was a scorching day, so full sun protection was needed. Hydration is essential as the climb caused quite a sweat. A trekking pole is recommended for the technical parts of the trail. Our preferred Merrell hiking boots gave us good grip and support on the ascent and descent.
