We opted for the 10 km Krokodilberg route. All routes start from the Hadeda Base Camp. The beginning and end of the trails take you along the Hennops River, and en route, you'll come across some historical sites, which include old settlement ruins, a cave, and old dolomite mines. There are 2 suspension bridges and a cable car that provides a unique element to this hike. We rated this trail as moderate to difficult. It's a picturesque route with sightings of various game and beautiful flora. It's a rocky trail that requires good balance, and the 400m elevation gain does require a good fitness level.

Our preferred Merrell boots gave us support on the rocky areas of the trail. A hiking stick is a good option to assist in the more tricky areas. Despite cooler weather, hydration is important.
