An easy, well-marked trail
Merrell shoes; hiking stick; a light jacket and water
Our hike started at the restaurant on-site. The trail was well-marked all along the route. It first took us past the dam, where you can enjoy a day of fishing and picnicking. We then started a gradual climb up the mountain, which was a good workout, and fancy footwork was needed with the rocky areas. Unfortunately, it was a very misty and cloudy day, so we couldn't see any views from the top, but we soaked in the beauty of all the protea trees and surrounding vegetation. The trail then took us into an open veld, where we got to see a range of insects and grasses. The last bit of the trail took us gently up another hill, and we made our descent back to the restaurant.
Follow The RouteIt was a misty and cold day, so a light jacket was needed. Due to previous rains, the route was slippery, but our preferred Merrell shoes kept us sturdy. A hiking stick is recommended for some rocky areas.
