We tackled the 9km route, and immediately on the trail, we were rewarded with sweeping views of the Magaliesberg countryside. As we made our way up the mountainside, we encountered a few steep sections, scaled a few ladders, and crossed the wooden bridge. We visited the English bomb shelter before descending the mountain again, leading us to a cave. The trail then leads one up a steep incline, back to the top of the mountain range. We proceeded along the ridgeline and took the chicken run back to the venue for a well-deserved refreshment.

My preferred Merrell hiking boots gave me the support needed, especially on the rocky areas of the trail. A trekking pole is recommended to assist in the tricky sections of the trail. Sun protection and hydration are always a must.
