We completed the 10km Krokodilberg Trail, which delivers everything one wants on a hike: a challenge, history, scenery, and a great workout.

The trail starts at Hadeda Camp and hugs the Hennops River before heading up the mountainside. It passes historical sites such as Hospital Cave, old settlement ruins, as well as an old dolomite mine. There are also two suspension bridges and a cable car, which provide a unique element to the hike. 

The trail is challenging due to the rocky terrain, as well as the long incline up the mountainside. A good level of fitness is required.

Our preferred Merrell hiking boots gave us great support on the rocky areas, and a trekking pole is recommended for the descents. Hydration and snacks are essential, and sun protection is a must.
